Sculptra Aesthetic is composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). It is a biocompatible (does not harm the body), biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body) material. lt has been used safely for many years in surgical products.

Sculptra Aesthetic is not a filler. It is a biostimulator that stimulates your own collagen to fill in areas of volume loss. Sculptra Aesthetic offers a unique, non-surgical option to re-volumize the face to restore more youthful fullness and proportions. Sculptra Aesthetic is FDA approved for the treatment of shallow to deep nasolabial folds and other facial contour deficiencies. It can be used to treat the cheeks, temples, nasolabial folds(smile lines), lateral cheek, marionette area and chin. Generally it is not used to address a specific area individually,rather, it is used to globally address facial proportions and volume to give a very natural correction. It is not used to treat the lips.

Sculptra Aesthetic is administered as an injection. Sculptra Aesthetic Treatments are performed once a month for 3 months. Results are not immediate, rather gradually emerge over about 7-9 months. The result can last 2 years or more. Since the correction results from your own collagen production and the face is addressed as a whole, the result is a very soft, natural correction.
